staff development
Our commitment to staff training and development is clear. Each member of the team is at different points in their career so have been sent down different paths to meet their individual development needs. These range from APMP courses to apprenticeships to mentoring and external training. Whichever path they have taken, we ensure the team continually learns alongside client work so they can produce top quality work for Pipster clients.
Training
All employees partake in various training throughout the year to keep up-to-date and learn new skills. We research bidding, business and industry training opportunities from different organisations, institutes, federations, and associations including:
● Association of Record for Bid, Proposal, Business Development, Capture and Graphics Professionals (APMP)
● Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS)
● Federation of Small Businesses (FSB)
● Appetite for Business
● Strategic Proposals
● The Institute of Asphalt Technology (IAT)
● Women in Bids and Proposals (WIBAP)
Mentoring
We realise the amazing benefits that mentoring can have on individual development and encourage all staff to find a mentor that suits them. Although Pippa is an APMP Rapport Mentor herself, we all have external mentors that can provide unbiased and impartial guidance. This ensures we have well-rounded support to achieve our aspirations and career goals.
Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are an incredible tool for business improvement, individual development, career progression and social mobility. We are delighted to have enrolled Katie onto JGA’s APMP certified Bid and Proposal Coordinator apprenticeship. The programme focusses on building the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for bid coordinating, providing Katie with everything she needs to succeed in the industry. The programme also benefits Pipster and our clients, improving our business function, productivity and performance.
