Pipster had already worked separately with the civils contractor and the project management company on several previously successful local authority bids prior to this contract arriving, so relationships had been established and bid library content had already been built.

With familiarity already in place, we were able to start work quickly, understand requirements and work together on a winning solution. We were also introduced to a third party contributor – the equipment manufacturer who helped with product specification information and installation methodology. A collaborative team effort was essential for this two stage design and build bid due to its complex nature and requirement for design, manufacture, installation, stakeholder and project management information.

Regular meetings organised by Jo at Pipster with the lead contractor and designer allowed solutions and the approach to be refined and sections of the submission to be allocated according to subject matter expertise. We added value in managing the portal communications so that the client could manage their business operations, reviewed the supplier questionnaire responses for compliance, built tailored CVs and case studies and assisted the client with upload.

The final result was an extremely comprehensive and compliant tender submission which scored 45 / 45 for technical content, 10 / 10 for social value and 45 / 45 for price making it a triumphant 100% across the board.
