Highways UK at Birmingham NEC in October remains one of the key events on the calendar for Team Pipster (and anyone working within a highways, surfacing or civil engineering role).

This year, Pippa, Jo, Jenny and Sajia all attended and met up with many of the wonderful Pipster associates that support our clients. For newest Pipster Jenny, this was her first trip to this industry event, and a fantastic insight into how our bidding roles fit in with industry suppliers, contractors, product manufacturers, local authorities and National Highways.

This year the event also brought us Asphalt World UK to focus on material production and surfacing. Many of our clients showcased their services and networked with current and new connections.

Unsurprisingly, the National Highways SDF2 tender dominated a lot of our conversations! It was interesting to hear how our clients and writing associates found the tender experience, and what they were now turning their attention to following such a busy summer.

Next year, we celebrate 15 years of Pipster Solutions, and as part of that landmark, we’ll be back at Highways UK with our own stand. More details to follow!
